Every Asset comes with the Artful3D Developer Pack.
It is a complete workflow from Blend file to Substance Painter.
You can set up your own workflow with any asset and switch between your applications
I use Blender to make my assets.
If you use another 3D Software... No Problem... you can just import the assets and working as usual.
To work with the Blend file is a bit more comfortable because there is all on the right place and the file includes not exported meshes and rigs etc.
Some Artful3D assets includes shape keys to change the proportions of the meshes.
You can use the shape keys in your engine as morph targets or fix and export it without morphing.
What seems a bit complicated on the first look opens up after some trying out quickly.
The folders are very clear structured and sober. You can use the default settings and just change the colors, dirt etc. or you can refine and make a completely new texture.
To be able to use the painter file. You need the Allegorithmic Substance Painter 3D texture software.
A substance painter file is available in every pack for all Artful3D meshes.
The master textures are clearly structured and with a little experimenting you have quickly worked out your own procedure.
You can texture, refine and individualize every 3D asset.
You can change or refine your Artful3D mesh in any way that you deem necessary.
There are hundreds of different possibilities to export or use PBR textures in differtent applications.
In Substance Painter you can use the Artful3D textures with your own customized export settings.
The texture sizes also can be changed before export.
My experience has shown that in almost every case a fine adjustment between the painter and the engines is necessary. (UE4 ist tested in engine and ready to use)
The Artful3D assets are delivered with PBR metal roughness and a painter file.
The texture size will mosty be 2048.
